There are so many who dream of making it as collegiate and professional athletes; however, the environment, requirements, and pressures of being an athlete are not always clear up front and ultimately end up chewing up and spitting most players out before they have even had the chance to try. Only.14% of high schoolers actually end up making it to the NFL, and even if you make it to the collegiate level, only 2% of NCAA players end up going pro across all sports for both men and women. This situation is tough enough if you were a mature adult, but now imagine an 18-year-old trying to navigate the challenges of essentially two full-time jobs, fresh out of high school, in the real world for the first time. Add in the many pitfalls this environment entails, such as drugs, alcohol, partying, academic stress, being the "big man" on campus where everyone knows you, being on TV, hate mail and vocal hate towards your playing and you as an individual, understanding the skill of time management, and so much more.
On top of that, most student-athletes come in without the proper base of understanding of what they are actually getting into in the first place because, to be honest, you will not know it until you are actually in it. Understand what is real in this environment and what is fake; who are you really outside of your sport; what do you really want out of this situation; how can I actually accomplish everything that I want; and how on Earth can I figure all this out? Not having the proper base going into the collegiate environment is a recipe for disaster, and it has been for most. We have personally witnessed athletes struggle through the process and afterwards. Friends who have taken their lives, gone to mental institutions, been homeless, suffered massive mental issues, and have gone through some of these issues themselves
Game Within the Game focuses on a real conversation to prevent these issues in a language understandable for athletes, parents, and coaches. This 6-week course gives you the secrets on how to be successful in this environment, giving you the keys to finding yourself, understanding the environment you are getting into, finding and using your strengths, making a plan for yourself, and ultimately coming out on top. The first college-accredited course written by athletes who have done it for student-athletes to teach them how to make it themselves!
Whether it is the course, the book, or even just exploring our resources, our hope is that it will guide athletes through the challenging parts of becoming a college-level or professional athlete and how to understand the mental aspect of the "Game Within The Game" and to win it.
Let us help build your base to take you into the collegiate world and beyond!
